Care with respect, independence and trust

Support Independence Australia is preparing to deliver person-centred NDIS supports across Ballarat, Victoria and surrounding suburbs. Our NDIS registration application is pending audit.

Who we are

We support people with disability to live more safely, confidently and independently. Our work is guided by participant choice, dignity of risk, cultural respect, clear communication and practical support that fits everyday life.

We understand that good support depends on trust. That is why we focus on respectful relationships, careful planning, suitable workers and consistent follow-up when circumstances change.

Our purpose

Empowering lives through compassionate support

Our mission is to support NDIS participants to enhance their health, wellbeing and life skills by working closely with families, communities, government and healthcare teams.

We value diversity, personal choice, independence and each person's unique needs.

Quality and safety

How we keep support accountable

Our systems are designed to support safe practice, participant rights and ongoing service improvement.

Participant Planning

We review goals, preferences, support needs, risk factors, cultural needs and communication requirements before services begin.

Incident Response

Incidents and hazards are recorded, escalated and reviewed so actions can be taken promptly.

Continuous Improvement

Feedback, complaints, audits and service reviews are used to strengthen our policies and daily practice.

Inclusive practice

Respectful support for CALD participants

We recognise that participants and families may have different languages, cultures, beliefs, family decision-making styles and experiences with services. We aim to make support easy to understand, culturally safe and welcoming.

How we can help

  • Ask about the participant's preferred language and communication style.
  • Use plain language and repeat information when needed.
  • Arrange interpreter support for important discussions where required.
  • Provide Easy Read documents or simple summaries on request.
  • Respect cultural preferences, food needs, family involvement and privacy.
