Daily Support Needs
Personal care, routines, meals, household tasks, transport, community access and overnight requirements.
Supported Independent Living
Support Independence Australia provides SIL support across Ballarat, Victoria and surrounding suburbs for participants who need regular assistance with daily tasks, routines, overnight support and skill development in a shared living arrangement.
Supported Independent Living focuses on the daily support a participant needs at home. It can include assistance with personal routines, household tasks, meal preparation, medication prompts, building independent living skills, overnight support and participating in community life.
SIL support is planned around the participant's goals, safety needs, cultural preferences, communication needs, funding, roster requirements and compatibility with the shared living environment.
SIL planning
A clear intake process helps make SIL support safer and better matched to the participant's needs.
Personal care, routines, meals, household tasks, transport, community access and overnight requirements.
Medication prompts, mobility needs, emergency contacts, behaviour support strategies and relevant health care instructions.
Skills the participant wants to build, preferred routines, cultural needs, communication needs and choices about daily life.
Communication support
Moving into shared living, changing support arrangements or starting SIL can feel overwhelming. We can explain information in plain language, provide Easy Read summaries and help arrange interpreter support for important SIL discussions.
If you are a participant, family member, nominee or support coordinator, you can send a SIL enquiry and our team will follow up.
